Korman Residence
I am Residence Korman.
For almost 160 years, I have stood in the heart of unspoiled nature, surrounded by meadows, forests, and the quiet paths of Pohorje. For generations, my walls have witnessed the changing seasons, the lives of people, and the stories created beneath my roof.

Who am I?
I am located in Ruta, in the municipality of Lovrenc na Pohorju, near the Drava River and the Radoljna stream. I am embraced by peace and nature, which gently calm the mind and reconnect people with themselves.
From the very beginning, I have belonged to the Korman family, who, according to known records, have lived here since at least 1820. In the 19th century, I was a large estate farm where Franc and Ula Korman, through their work and dedication, helped shape the lives of the local community. The last owners who lived and worked here until 1995 were Jože and Marija Korman.
Once, my courtyard was full of life. Cows and sheep grazed across the meadows, while pigs and chickens filled the barns. The orchards generously bore apples, pears, plums, and cherries, many of which still grow beside me today. The family lived self-sufficiently – from their vegetable garden, fields of corn and wheat, and their own honey. Within my farm buildings operated a blacksmith workshop, a carpentry workshop, a sawmill, and a fruit press. Long ago, even the bricks from which I was built were handmade here.
My first major renovation was carried out in 1863 by the great-grandparents of the current owners. In 2023, their great-grandchildren lovingly revived me once again, respecting my history while giving me new life. Even today, I preserve my original character.

Even today, I preserve my original character.
My vaulted ceilings, traditional ceramic stove, original furniture, collection of old books, and details from another era tell the story of a slower and more meaningful rhythm of life. Around me, all of the original farm buildings still stand, including a protected historic hayrack.
Today, I offer guests four accommodation units, designed in the spirit of my original appearance. Each space preserves the authenticity of an old Pohorje homestead while offering the comfort of modern living. The shared courtyard, garden with a swimming pool, and peaceful corners for relaxation, socializing, and sports create a place where time flows more slowly.
In the entrance hall, guests will find a cozy reading corner and board games. Next to the former carpentry workshop, there is a barbecue area, while the garden features a swimming pool and a small garden house for relaxation during warm summer days.
I offer guests peace, privacy, and a connection with nature, along with opportunities for unique experiences – from exploring local attractions to organizing special events and activities. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a basket of homemade local delicacies.

I am a place where the past is preserved not as a memory, but as a feeling. A place where one can once again rediscover silence, nature, and the simplicity of life.
Ruta lies at approximately 600 meters above sea level, where the forests of Pohorje open into a peaceful landscape of meadows, orchards, and fresh mountain air. Thanks to its unspoiled nature, pleasant climate, and rich forests, the area has long been considered a place of well-being and natural retreat.
It is a place where life slows down to the rhythm of nature – among walks through the forests, the sounds of the Radoljna stream, and views of the vast Pohorje hills. The surrounding area offers countless opportunities for exploration and outdoor activities, from hiking, cycling, and discovering forest trails to simply retreating into silence and peace.
Ruta is a destination for everyone seeking a connection with nature, the authenticity of the Pohorje landscape, and a peaceful escape from the fast pace of everyday life.
